Dr. Matchmaker

“Who were you trying to fix her up with?” Rose asked.

“First there was Mike Yates,” said the Doctor. “Probably she was right to reject him. There was nothing wrong with the next bloke, though. Harry treated her like a queen!”

      “And then?”

“Harry left the Tardis, but Sarah wouldn't leave with him.”

“So you gave up on finding Mr. Right for her?”

“Never! I just haven't found him yet. So, Rose, if you find someone for Sarah while we're traveling together, let me know. I'll deliver him to her pronto!”

 History Repeats Itself

“I love your niece!” Juno gushed. “How come you never mentioned her before?”

“As a researcher,” Lavinia answered, “I'm better at discussing scientific facts than feelings. But believe me, Sarah Jane is like the daughter I never had.”

Many years later...

“Maria,” Sarah Jane said, “I want to apologize again for how I acted after you told me you were moving. It's just that... as a reporter, I find it easier to talk about facts than feelings. But believe me when I tell you that you're like a daughter to me.”

Housekeeping

“I'm tidying while Luke's at school,” said Sarah, trash bag in hand.

“I'll help,” Gita said. “We've got a Dumpster for our moving debris. I can toss your bag in.”

“Thanks,” Sarah said. “You're a great neighbor.”

Later that day...

“Luke, it didn't look like a talisman from the Verran Soothsayer!” Sarah shouted. “It looked like a lump of green clay, and it was collecting dust under your bed!”

“Maybe it's not important--” Luke began.

“Of course it's important! Come on, Luke. We're going Dumpster-diving at the Chandras' house!”

Meeting of the Minds

“Do the researchers here know that Virus Z was engineered by aliens who want to invade Earth?” Mel asked.

“No,” answered the Doctor. “They are also unaware that a saboteur has infiltrated the laboratory. We're here to stop her.”

Mel looked around. “Maybe it's her!”

“No,” the Doctor said, following Mel's gaze toward a researcher. “She's on our side. That's Lavinia Smith.”

Hearing her name, Lavinia turned toward the Doctor. “Do I know you?” she asked.

“No, but I've met your niece,” said the Doctor. “She's wonderful!”

Motherly Advice

"Hm, you want to create a stronger bond with your son? Try friending him on Face Book,” Kate Lethbridge-Stewart had said. “I've friended Gordy.”

That was yesterday.  Sarah opened her inbox to see whether Luke had responded yet. Sure enough, she had a new message that made her smile:

"Luke Smith has added you as a friend on Face Book. He has also written a personal message to you:

Thanks for your message, Mum. I love you too. But please don't write things like “I love you” on my Wall. Clyde says that's embarrassing.
